What to wear to the races

The Cheltenham festival is just a few days away!  It is an exciting week of horse racing events, finishing off with the Cheltenham Gold Cup (on March 13th).  However before that, on March 11th, is one of my favourite equestrian-related fashion ‘shows’; Cheltenham Ladies Day!  There are always so many wonderful, interesting and colourful outfits being worn, not to mention the fascinators and hats, some of which must have taken a long time and plenty of skill to make, not to mention a knack for wearing them!

So, what to wear to the races?  Well, to celebrate this exciting and memorable day, I have put together this look.  The main theme-colour is floral brights and I have added hints of blue to the multi-coloured floral patterned dress.

For the make-up, I have applied pale green & aquamarine eye-shadows to bring out the greens in the dress, and red lipstick. Finally, I have finished off the look with a floral clutch. What would look stunning with this outfit is a large deep pink fascinator, jewelled necklace with a matching bracelet to accessorise.

Have you been to the Cheltenham Ladies Day?  I’d love to see any photos of your outfits.

That dress is stunning on you! I genuinely haven’t got a clue what I’d wear to the races, I’m definitely more of a casual girl haha!

    • Thank you Kirstie! I initially bought this dress for a wedding and it’s the kind of style which you can wear to any occasion. I’m a big girl at heart and love getting dressed up 🙂
